NID or National Institute of Design has 3 campuses-Ahmedabad, Kurukshetra and Vijayawada offers a 4- year Design courses in Product Design, Animation and Film Design, Exhibition Design, Communication design, furniture design, etc. NID offers professional education programmes at Bachelors and Masters level with five faculty streams and 20 diverse design domains as specified earlier.

A green campus of 15 acres is at Gandhinagar to enhance the spirit of NID and provide a platform for research-led education to the post-graduate students. The work done by the graduates is already garnering appreciation and recognition from the industry. The National Institute of Design (NID) is internationally acclaimed as one of the foremost multi-disciplinary institutions in the field of design education and research. The Business Week, USA has listed NID as one of the top 25 European & Asian programmes in the world. NID was established in 1961, and recently, it celebrated its golden jubilee.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), a leader in fashion education with the ability to integrate knowledge, academic freedom, critical independence and creative thinking has a history of being in existence for 28 years stands as a testimony to its fundamentals where academic excellence lies at the core. It was set up in 1986 under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India is a Statutory Institute Governed by the NIFT Act 2006. For the Placements 2016, the major recruitment was done by Retail companies followed by Brands. A total of 39% of the total graduates recruited were placed in Retail companies. This was followed by Fashion Brands (20%), Designers / Design houses (19%), export houses / buying houses and agencies (16%).

The Average annual salary during campus placements 2016 for the students from Master’s program was Rs. 5.70 lakhs per annum and for the Bachelor’s Programme, the average annual salary was Rs. 4.30 lakhs per annum.
