National Aptitude Test for Architecture is conducted by the COA (Council of Architecture) every year for candidates wanting to take up Architecture as a profession. The Council of Architecture has decided to conduct NATA-2018 for admission to B.Arch. in the academic session 2018-19, as a one-day online examination all over the country, which will comprise of two parts: Part A comprises of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to be answered online and Part B is paper based drawing which will be done in A4 size sheets. There is no other date for appearing for NATA i.e. 29th April 2018 . One can easily prepare for this exam in 2-3 months, provided one is consistent on the right track.
Mainly three things are required for the preparation- PERSPECTIVE DRAWING, APTITUDE AND MATHEMATICS. To strategise how to prepare for NATA, one can time the course in a way that enough practice happens for each part.
For perspective drawing, there are plenty of links available on YouTube or you can buy sketching booklets from us for reference. The student should cover one point perspective, two point perspective, abstract compositions, graphic design exercises, foreshortening. For Aptitude part, one can cover 3D visualization exercises, concept of surfaces, various views of an object, surface developments of 3d figures, orthographic projections. For the Theory part, one can focus on topics like Climatology, Important Architects and their works, important terms in Architecture, Places of architectural importance, awareness about environment and its resources. For Mathematics part, the student can go through topics of XIth and XIIth std. It would require a brush up of all the topics that one would have studied for two years in school.
