Vanshika Narang, our ex-Student of First Year, NIFT (Delhi), pursuing B.Des(Fashion and lifestyle accessory design) shares her beautiful journey.

I’m presently pursuing my bachelors in Design from NIFT Delhi. This course teaches us product designing from jewellery to automobiles. The first year is the foundation programme where one learns about different fields and aspects of design, field studies, fashion trends and basic creative development.

I had thought about getting into a creative field in class 10th. When it came to choosing streams I opted for Non-Medical with economics, a lot of people now ask me if I had to come to NIFT why did I take up sciences?. The answer is two years ago I didn’t know I would get into NIFT. It was the best thing that happened in my life.

Though I wouldn’t say it was a miracle because I started preparing from class XI, juggled between all the PCM tuitions and classes at THE FUTURIST. But yes it paid off!

The best part is the satisfaction that I have about my life today that yessss I am at the right place where I’m learning what I want to do in life. Besides this designing field is a career option which cannot be compared to any other profession because of the amount of exposure it offers to your mind nothing else can. You start seeing things from a different perspective and gives you great amount of happiness and satisfaction that you also witnessed this side of the world, that you noticed the details in the design of a building or object that people around you didn’t.
